NEW CONE 10
GLAZES!
Available now, our
ever expanding glaze line continues it's growth with 4 new Cone 10
food safe glazes:
Serenity Celadon - A cool slightly bluish gray/green celadon
nearly clear in translucency, looks great on our Pier porcelain.
Butter - A rich creamy opaque yellow to white food-safe glaze.
Like it's name, Butter melts from a matte to semi gloss with subtle
hare's fur texturing.
Shogun Shino - A carbon trapping orange to cream shino glaze
with great texture effects when applied thick. Inspired by the
original shino glazes of Japan.
Flambé Red - A stable bright copper red/purple, with bluish
highlights, breaks white on edges. A real showstopper!
NEW CLAY BODIES!
MACABEE WHITE
Our original clay body "Mac" has not been available for
over 3 years due to the mine closure of it's base clay material. So...
We reformulated it into a much better clay body. If you liked the old
Mac clay, or are a current user of porcelain or B-mix type clays, this
one if for you! White like porcelain, without the high cost! Whiter
than B-Mix! You will love this new take on an old clay..
SMOOTH SCULPTURE,
A clay specially formulated with the help of famed portrait
artist Philippe Faraut. This sculpting clay is smooth and silky, great
for fine detailed sculpture work, but its secret weapon is its
resistance to high shrinkage, warping, cracking, while keeping its
smooth feel. Sticks well to itself for handbuilding and sculpting, but
can also be wheel thrown! Wow!
GROGZILLA,
Available now, a no holds barred clay full of
tooth and rich color. A medium ten to red-brown firing sculpture clay body with
4
kinds of grog and 2 mesh sizes of sand. Toothy, rich and bold, plastic but with great strength, this
Shigaraki inspired
clay body will hold up to the largest pieces of work. An amazing
high-fire atmospheric firing clay!
BIG SUR,
Our very popular Santa Barbara White stoneware clay body for
cone 10 firing is now available in a version with Sand and Grog. BIG
SUR is extremely plastic, this is a wonderful functional ware throwing
body. It can even be raku fired. The addition of 35 mesh grog, and 60
mesh sand gives this white body extra throwing capability for medium
to larger pieces. A local studio favorite, it's one clay you will definitely
want to try.
Venus White,
Now available, a smooth Cone 5-6 white stoneware body for
medium firing. Tremendous plasticity & great throwing properties
both in a vitreous cone 5/6 body. The addition of medium to fine white
